Leading Product and Engineering Through Regulatory Complexity

Director of Product Development · 2019–2021 · Burlington, VT (Remote-first)

🧭 My Role & Scope

Product Direction & Strategy

I served as the bridge between regulatory stakeholders and our engineering team, translating complex, shifting legal frameworks into actionable product goals. My work spanned roadmap planning, client engagement, and day-to-day product ownership for our compliance software suite.

Engineering Leadership

I led a small but high-output team of engineers responsible for building and maintaining Trace’s core products. This included setting up CI/CD infrastructure, refining our agile workflows, and mentoring developers through onboarding and retrospectives.

Cultural Stewardship

As the company scaled, I focused on building a cohesive, remote-first culture grounded in accountability and collaboration. I implemented weekly scrum meetings, biweekly developer retros, and transparent reporting structures that gave both clients and internal teams visibility into progress.
